One of the most important things to understand about narcissistic abuse is that there is a very predictable cycle. You will notice how the abuser uses specific behavior to keep you hooked. 

The incredible thing is that across the world in different countries, cultures, socio-economic classes and genders, the cycle of narcissistic abuse is exactly the same. 

People often say, it's like they all read the same book!

No one really knows how that's possible because clearly they didn't all read a book on how to do this, but surely all abusers learned from someone else, often a parent or caretaker.
